Cameron Place CSA was established in 2005 as a diversification of Rancho Durazno, and an individually owned organic peach orchard in Palisade, Colorado.  The CSA grows fresh vegetables on 3-5 acres, primarily for 100 CSA shares plus sales at 2-4 farmers’ markets and local restaurants. Garden and CSA membership managers are needed beginning February, 2012. Position Description: Garden manager is responsible for all phases from planning to seeding through harvest of fresh vegetables.  CSA membership manager assists Garden manager and supervises vegetable and fruit share distributions and communication with members and community via newsletter, email, website etc.  Experience in required tasks is essential, as is demonstrated management capability. As optimal applicant(s) will take full responsibility and ownership of CSA within 0-3 years, experience and/or demonstrated financial management and entrepreneurial aptitude are preferred.

CSA is well equipped with tractors, implements, greenhouse, barn, coolers, trucks and housing.

Compensation

Base salary influenced by CSA share subscription.  Additional compensation based on market sales, cost containment and other performance-based incentive.  Manager’s compensation $15 – $25k with on farm housing and utilities included.

Farm management mentoring provided by Rancho Durazno’s owner/operator (30+ years experience).  Upon completion of first year, successful managers’ responsibilities may be expanded to include peach orchard management (economic foundation for Rancho Durazno and Palisade agriculture).

Advice, consultation and coaching on local vegetable growing available from the CSA’s original manager/coach.
