Followed by a question and and answer panel featuring real members of the farming community of Northwest Lower Michigan. A partnership of ISLAND and the Northern Michigan Small Farm Conference Learn what indoor farming is, and how you can begin farming next week! Paul Murray has been farming wheatgrass and other sprouts indoors for over five years, and is a familiar face at farmer's markets around northern Michigan. This workshop will cover all the materials you'll need, where to get them, as well as how to plant, grow, and harvest your crops. Lead by local beekeepers Yvonne Stephens and Heather Miller, this is an introduction to the resources you need to begin this relaxing and compelling hobby. The info session will cover essential tools and equipment, how to obtain bees, basic bee care, ideal hive location, foraging plants, and more.
