Job: Family-run 250 acre sheep dairy and farmstead creamery seeks a full-time employee.
Our upstate New York farm (35 miles NW of Albany) consists of 200 milking dairy sheep and 200 Boer cross goats. The sheep and goats graze on the 40 acres of pasture during the summer months. The dairy sheep are milked seasonally from April until November. We make sheep milk cheeses in our farmstead facilities. The employee’s duties will focus on animal care including milking, lambing and kidding, feeding, cleaning, and making hay. There is also opportunity to learn cheesemaking and help market cheese at Farmers’ Markets if interested. As our farm continues to expand, there is potential for the position to include managerial responsibilities.
